Day 1 in Taipei: morning incense at Xingtian Temple, Longshan Temple and the Bopiliao Historical Block, then the gondola up to Zhinan Temple and the Dalongdong Confucius Temple. Day 2 in Taichung: Dajia Jenn Lann Temple and Chung Tai Chan Monastery, with souvenir shopping at the Puli Winery. Day 3 in Kaohsiung: a vegetarian meal in Fo Guang Shan's dining hall, cleansing bad karma at the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas on Lotus Pond, and Sanfeng Temple.

There is real driving involved, but the 10 hours of vehicle use per day already cover both the travel and the time at each temple. The route runs north to south in order, so we never backtrack.
