2 DaysInteractive fun at the National Palace Museum's Children's Gallery and sky lanterns in Shifen, then Yilan craft DIY at the Traditional Arts Center and rainbow-candy making at the toy factory — the kids won't want to go home.
4 DaysTamsui sea breezes and Yehliu's strange rocks at a wandering pace, a night in the Jiaoxi hot springs, healing days at Qixingtan and Taroko, then a finale in Chishang's rice fields and Zhiben's springs.
3 DaysXingtian Temple, Longshan Temple and the gondola up to Zhinan Temple, then south to Dajia Jenn Lann Temple and Chung Tai Chan Monastery, closing with a vegetarian meal at Fo Guang Shan and the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.
4 DaysFrom Taipei's Xingtian Temple and the temple clusters of Lion's Head Mountain, past Dajia Matsu and Chung Tai Chan Monastery, into the Tsou village of Dabang and Fenqihu, ending at Tainan's oldest Matsu temples.
2 DaysSky lanterns in Shifen, lantern-lit Shuqi Road in Jiufen and a giant gold brick in Jinguashi, then the Queen's Head at Yehliu and group shots at Zhengbin's colorful houses, finishing at Keelung Miaokou Night Market.
6 DaysTaipei → Yilan → Hualien → Taitung → Kaohsiung → Tainan → Taipei. Jiufen, Shifen and Taroko on the way south, with a Jiaoxi hotel lunch, Chishang bento, Wanluan pork knuckle and Tainan's old-town snacks, closing at A-Sha Restaurant.
7 DaysTaipei → North Coast → Yilan → Hualien (2 nights) → Taitung → Kaohsiung → Tainan → Chiayi → Taipei. The Queen's Head at Yehliu, Taroko Gorge, Liushidan Mountain daylilies, the Sanxiantai arch bridge and Maolin's Purple Butterfly Valley, closing with Alishan's giant trees and sea of clouds.
