Charter

Planning a charter around Taiwan Luxury & Independent Prestige Hotels

  1. Entrance pickupsAt every hotel, the charter simply picks up and drops off at the entrance. Guest parking rules vary by hotel; please check with the hotel whether they apply to charter vehicles.
  2. Lakes and national parksThe Lalu and Silks Place Taroko are out of the way, so a private charter straight to the door is easiest; some sections of Highway 8 have controlled opening times, so check before setting off.
  3. Long drives in the southCaesar Park Hotel Kenting is about 2.5 hours south of HSR Zuoying Station and pairs with Grand Hilai Kaohsiung for a southern Taiwan trip.

For restaurants, Ya Ge at Mandarin Oriental, MIPON at Grand Mayfull and Tien Hsiang Lo at The Landis each hold one star in the Michelin Guide Taiwan, and Le Palais at Palais de Chine Hotel holds three. How do I choose between Mandarin Oriental, Taipei and Grand Mayfull Hotel Taipei?

Mandarin Oriental is on Dunhua North Road, closer to Nanjing East Road and Xinyi; Grand Mayfull is in Dazhi, on the way to the National Palace Museum, Shilin and Beitou. Both offer free guest parking.

Do I need a private charter to get to The Lalu or Silks Place Taroko?

Not necessarily. Both have paid shuttles by reservation (The Lalu from HSR Taichung Station, Silks Place from Hualien Station). For larger groups, or if you want to stop at sights along the way, a private charter is more flexible.
