At a Glance
Palais de Chine Hotel is at No. 3, Section 1, Chengde Road, Datong District, Taipei, on the west side of Taipei Main Station next to Q Square, with the TRA, HSR, MRT, Airport MRT and Taipei Bus Station all within walking distance. By MRT, take Exit Y5 at Taipei Main Station and turn right onto Chengde Road; HSR passengers leave by the West Exit on the 1st floor, cross the West Plaza and take the footbridge over Civic Boulevard.
The hotel is designed around the theme of a European castle. Greeting guests in the 1st-floor lobby is "Lady", a life-size antique horse brought from France, and every floor has tapestries, statues and antique bookcases; hotel and restaurant guests can book a free art tour. There are three places to eat: Le Palais, the Cantonese restaurant on the 17th floor; Le Thé, a European-style tea salon on the 6th floor; and the Sicilian steak bistro Ciao by Fratelli Pennisi Macelleria Sicilia.
The 17th floor has a gym for hotel guests, and the 6th floor has a 24-hour business center. Rooms don't automatically provide single-use toiletries, and glass bottles of RO-filtered water replace bottled water. It suits travelers taking the HSR or Airport MRT in and out of Taipei, or who want Taipei Main Station as the starting point of their trip.

Highlights
01Le Palais
Le Palais is on the hotel's 17th floor, serving Cantonese cuisine from dim sum to banquet dishes, and its signature is the "prophet duck" (先知鴨). The restaurant holds three stars in the Michelin Guide Taipei, for nine editions from 2018 to 2026.

02Breakfast at Le Thé
Breakfast is at Le Thé on the 6th floor, served daily 06:30–12:00, and you can come and go as often as you like before 12:00: have a coffee, go back to your room, and come down later for a proper meal. It applies to room rates that include breakfast.
The buffet has local Taiwanese favorites such as buns from Hualien's Gongzheng Baozi (公正包子), garlic pork thick soup from Yilan's A Niang Gei (阿娘給) and Sanchong's Zhengyi Soy Milk (正義豆漿), plus freshly blanched beef soup, a Japanese section, made-to-order hot dishes and rice porridge with side dishes.

03Art Tour
The hotel has organized its furnishings into a guided route, with commentary on everything from the horse Lady and the Hercules Pillar on the 1st floor to tapestries depicting Julius Caesar and Cleopatra and the Jiangnan painted-boat private room at Le Palais on the 17th floor. Hotel and restaurant guests can book for free.

Guest parking is on B4–B5 of the Taipei Bus Station parking garage, entered from Civic Boulevard; please check with the hotel whether it applies to charter vehicles. Traffic around Taipei Main Station is heavy, so agree on pick-up and drop-off times with your driver in advance.
