At a Glance
Fleur de Chine Hotel is on the north side of Sun Moon Lake at No. 23, Zhongzheng Road, Yuchi Township, about a 5-minute drive along the lakeshore from the Shuishe Visitor Center, before Wenwu Temple. Its predecessor hotel (日月潭中信大飯店) opened in 1975; when it was rebuilt after the 921 earthquake, a well drilled more than 1,000 meters beside the large rock at the main entrance struck hot spring water.
Of the hotel's 207 rooms, 205 have a natural hot spring tub (the other 2, mountain-view Classic accessible rooms, have no bathtub for safety reasons). There are six places to eat and drink: Rainbow Cloud teppanyaki, KEN CAN by Ken Chan for Cantonese cuisine, the Crimson buffet, the Lobby Bar, the Yunshui executive lounge (雲水行政酒廊) on the 3rd floor and the Sky Lounge on the top floor.
The 1st floor has the Cloud Forest kids' playground, Water World and a public hot spring bath (煙嵐風呂), the 5th floor has VALMONT SPA, and outside there is a 13-meter climbing wall; daily activities include stand-up paddleboarding, sunrise at Jinlong Mountain and evening performances. The hotel does not provide single-use toiletries by default, nor bottled water; drinking water comes from sparkling water dispensers. It suits families with children who want to pack a night at Sun Moon Lake with activities.

It is canceled in rain, and fees are subject to the hotel's latest notice.

Access
The hotel is on the north shore of Sun Moon Lake, about a 5-minute drive straight along the lakeshore from the Shuishe Visitor Center, before Wenwu Temple. Exit National Freeway 6 at Ailan Interchange and take Highways 14 and 21 for about 14 km to Sun Moon Lake; when you see the water, turn left onto Highway 21A and the hotel is about 500 meters on. Coming from the south, you can also exit National Freeway 3 at Mingjian Interchange and take Highway 16 via Jiji and Shuili to Highway 21.
There is one free shuttle daily from HSR Taichung Station (individual bookings only, reserve by 18:00 the day before check-in): it leaves HSR Exit 6 at 14:00 (check in at 13:30) and arrives at the hotel around 15:00; the return leaves the hotel at 12:15 and reaches the HSR station around 13:30. There is also a shuttle to and from the Zhongxing Parking Lot in Shuishe, leaving the hotel at 08:30 and 15:30.

A private charter from HSR Taichung Station to Sun Moon Lake takes a little over 1 hour, so you don't have to fit around the hotel's single daily 14:00 shuttle: you can visit Puli, Cingjing or sights around the lake in the morning and check in after 15:00. The hotel is on the north side of the lake, so Wenwu Temple, Ita Thao and Shuishe Pier are all short drives along the shore, and the next day you can carry on to Alishan or Cingjing. During big events such as the Sun Moon Lake fireworks festival or the cross-lake swim, traffic around the lake is heavy and hotel services may change, so check before you set off. Parking at the hotel is limited; guest parking is in indoor and outdoor lots, and please check with the hotel whether it applies to charter vehicles.
Check-in is at 15:00 and check-out is at 11:00.
205 of the 207 rooms have a natural hot spring tub; the other 2, mountain-view Classic accessible rooms, have no bathtub for safety reasons. There is also a public hot spring bath on the 1st floor.
Individual bookings can reserve the free shuttle, which leaves HSR Taichung Station Exit 6 daily at 14:00 (check in at 13:30) and arrives around 15:00; reserve by 18:00 the day before check-in. The return leaves the hotel at 12:15. You can also take a Nantou Bus from HSR Exit 5, or arrange a private charter.
Pets are not allowed in rooms, restaurants or public areas. The hotel has a free pet boarding space with cages on the 3rd floor, and reserving in advance is recommended.
Since 2019, single-use toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and razors are not provided by default. Rooms have shampoo and body wash, conditioner, body lotion and bath towels; if you need them, they can be bought at the gift shop on the 3rd floor.
Rates, room types, facility hours and parking rules follow the hotel’s latest notice.
