Highlights

Why stay at InterContinental Taipei? Three highlights

01Taipei Dome

Next to the Taipei Dome, near Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Songshan Cultural Park

The hotel sits right next to the Taipei Dome, so you can walk back after a game or concert. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is about a 5-minute walk away: in the morning you can watch tai chi on the plaza, and in the evening you can photograph the skyline with Taipei 101 and the Dome in the same frame.

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is about 0.5 km away. It was originally the Songshan Tobacco Factory, built in 1937, and is now a venue for design exhibitions and performances; Taipei 101 and Four Four South Village, with its preserved military-dependents' village houses, are also in Xinyi and fit into the same day.

02Indoor Pool

A heated indoor pool that opens at 6 a.m.

The indoor pool is heated and open 06:00–22:00, with a lifeguard on duty during opening hours and poolside loungers, towels and drinking water provided.

The fitness center has treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, rowing machines and free weights, so you can still get a workout in after a game or a day of shopping.

03Dining

7 dining venues, from Akira Back to a charcoal grill

The hotel has 7 dining venues. On the 2nd floor, Akira Back serves contemporary Japanese cuisine with Korean influences, and DOSA, from the same chef, does Korean food with an open kitchen; on the 5th floor, Rough Cuts focuses on open-flame, smoked and charcoal cooking, paired with wines and spirits.

On the ground floor, NTD Eatery serves Italian home-style dishes made for sharing, and Yi Social offers buffets at breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a drink, have tea and desserts at Thea Lounge, or order a cocktail with Taiwanese flavors at Simple Sips. Opening days for each restaurant are subject to the hotel's latest notice.

With a private charter

Taoyuan International Airport is about 47.3 km away and the hotel has no airport shuttle, so on arrival day it is easiest to take a charter straight into Xinyi. There is a short-stay drop-off area beside the entrance; on days with games or concerts at the Dome, traffic around the area gets heavy, so agree on pick-up times and spots with your driver in advance. Guest parking is free from 12:00 on the day of check-in until check-out day, subject to availability; please check with the hotel whether this applies to charter vehicles. This hotel fits the Taipei leg of a multi-day charter: head out from Xinyi during the day to Jiufen, Shifen or the Northeast Coast. GO TAIWAN's 2-day northern Taiwan and Northeast Coast photo-spot trip and 2-day Taipei + Yilan family trip both depart from Taipei, so you can stay here the night before you set off or the night you return to Taipei.
