HAYASE Japanese restaurant: kaiseki and teppanyaki
HAYASE on B1 comes from Hayase, the Japanese restaurant at Hotel Metropolitan Sendai. The dining room is themed on Sendai Castle, the cooking combines ingredients and techniques from the six Tohoku prefectures with local Taiwanese produce, and there's a selection of local sake from all six prefectures.
The kaiseki menu changes with the seasons, and the teppanyaki uses A5 Sendai beef. The restaurant has private rooms and also offers a children's set menu. Closure days are subject to the hotel's latest notice.
02BRILLIANT
Brilliant all-day dining and the breakfast buffet
Brilliant on B1 is a buffet-style all-day restaurant serving Tohoku specialties and international dishes, cooked in a semi-open kitchen, with one extra dish made to order by the chef each day.
Guest breakfast is also served here, 06:30–10:00, with Taiwanese, Japanese and Western dishes, 9 made-to-order egg dishes and a breakfast steak. Without a breakfast-inclusive rate, it's NT$880 for adults and NT$440 for children aged 6–12, plus a 10% service charge. Hotel guests get priority seating at peak times.

From Songshan Airport Station it's two stops on the Wenhu Line, about 10 minutes. From Taoyuan International Airport, take the Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station, walk to Beimen Station and change to the Songshan–Xindian Line for Nanjing Fuxing Station, about 1 hour in all. The concierge on the 1st floor can call a taxi for you, and you can also send luggage to the hotel ahead of time, addressed to the concierge for handover.
