Route: Hualien (fly in) → Taroko → East Rift Valley → Taitung → Zhiben → Taitung (fly out). Day 1 takes in the dramatic gorge at Taroko's Swallow Grotto and Tunnel of Nine Turns, then pebble-hunting and sunset at Qixingtan. Day 2 brings two hours of Xiuguluan River rafting, a muscle-soothing soak at Ruisui Hot Springs and the valley scenery of Liushidan Mountain. Day 3 covers surfing in Chenggong, the Sanxiantai arch bridge, an Amis craft workshop in Dulan and the Tiehua Village creative market. Day 4 is a friends' hot-spring session at Hotel Royal Chihpen, front-row Pacific views at Duoliang Station and a scenic drive down the South-Link Highway to your airport drop-off.

FAQ
Do we need to sign up separately for the Xiuguluan River rafting?
Yes. The rafting is run by a licensed local operator and takes about 2 hours. Accommodation, attraction tickets and activity fees, meals and personal expenses are not included (local restaurant recommendations are included, so you can dine as you like), so the rafting and the surf session are paid on the spot — though your travel consultant can reserve a time slot for you in advance.
When do the daylilies bloom?
The daylily season on Liushidan Mountain is concentrated in August–September. In other months the same route shows you the rift valley and the coastline in their everyday form, and the itinerary works just as well.
Where do we stay over the four days?
Night one in Hualien, night two in Taitung, and the last night in the Zhiben hot-spring area. Accommodation is not part of the charter fee, but your travel consultant can help arrange it.
Will we spend the whole trip sitting in the vehicle?
The east is a big, open region, so the drives really are longer than up north — but the 10 hours of vehicle use per day already cover both the travel and the time at each stop. If you want longer somewhere, or would rather skip a stop and move on, just tell your driver on the day.
